"Lakota Prayer" was written for the combined Rockville and Gaithersburg choruses. It can be performed b y a single chorus of at least 24 singers, half of which will sing the "Chorus I" part and half of which will sing "Chorus 2".

The music is based on an actual Lakota Spirit Dance, preserving the basic drum beat in tChorus IIÕs "boom, boom, boom boom" and the rising 5th of the original melody (same pitch, same metronome mark) in Chorus I.
